One part night-light, one part blow-mold throwback, all whimsy. The moon lamp is meant to evoke holiday lawn decorations from the past.

Initial sketches of the crescent shape were modeled in Blender. The completed 3D model of the crescent was scaled up and used as reference to create a set of blueprints for construction of the physical master sculpt.

The crescent portion of the master sculpt was constructed out of plywood, insulation foam, and fiberglass body filler. The moon's face was sculpted in epoxy clay and attached separately to allow for more detail work and precision finishing.

The completed master sculpt was molded in a brush-on silicone jacket mold, leaving a perfect mold for rotocasting.
